GED TEST

• GED test comprises of five tests:
• Language Arts (writing)
• Language Arts (Reading)
• Mathematics
• Social Studies
• Science
  

Language Arts: Writing
In first part of writing; you will have to complete 50 items of sentence structure, organization, usage and mechanics in 75 minutes.

In second part; you will write an essay free of grammatical mistakes, highly focused on main points.

The test highly depends on organization and understanding of words.

Social Studies
In social studies test 70 minutes will be allotted to you for covering 50questions on American history, world history, government .economics and geography. Questions relevant to civics and government such as tax form, registration forms, workplace personal budget, global warming and environments cover the major section of test.

Science
The test of science consists of 50 multiple-choice questions you will need to solve in 80 minutes.

Questions cover different areas of life science, earth science, physical science and space science. Many questions may be asked in the form of graph charts and diagram.

Science test analyzes your ability to use the scientific concepts in practical life or practical field. So you should highly focus on topics like population, recycling, heredity, photosynthesis, weather, climate geology, magnetism, energy and cell division.

Language Arts: Reading
You have to complete 40questions in a short time period of 65 minutes, you will have to complete text passages, test assesses your ability to read and understand the texts of passages. The test includes five fiction and two non fiction passages of almost 300-400 words.

In fiction the major portions will be poem, prose and play. In case of non fiction you will give comprehensive answers for questions which may include letters, biographies, and articles from magazines.

Mathematics:
In mathematics you’ll have to solve two parts in the time duration of 90 minutes, of which first part allows to use calculators on the contrary second one restricts use of calculators, you will get permission to use the calculator in first portion after proper testing in exam. The test of mathematics covers main core mathematical items: number operation, formula, number sense, measurements, geometry, data analysis, probability, statistics, functions and algebra
